Volunteer and Member Recognition

The Friend are having an event December 1 to honor and acknowledge our wonderful volunteers and members.  Our honorees are the following:

  2012 Watershed Champion Nominees

STEWARDSHIP
Organization:
  • Wisconsin’s Department of Natural Resources: For streambank restoration efforts on the former Rainbow Springs property, now the Mukwonago River Unit–Southern Kettle Moraine State Forest
  • The Nature Conservancy: For woodland and prairie restoration efforts on their preserves throughout the upper watershed
  • Kettle Moraine Land Trust: For land protection efforts in the south branch portion of the watershed
  • Waukesha Land Conservancy: For land protection efforts in the Jericho Creek portion of the watershed
Individual / Family:
  • Holtz Farms: For their hard work to protect and restore their oak savanna
  • Jacki Lewis and Dick Adduci: For their hard work to restore prairie on their land
  • Pamela Meyer: For her hard work to restore oak woodlands, savanna, and prairie on her land
  • The Tarman-Ramcheck family: For their land stewardship efforts in the area around Lake Beulah and the Beulah Bog State Natural Area
EDUCATION
  • Natalie Dorrler (Nature’s Classroom Institute of Wisconsin): For her leadership on the Friends Education Committee
  • Emily Stahl (Camp Timber-Lee): For her environmental education leadership in the watershed
  • The Eagleville School PTO and Jean Weedman: For their collaboration on the Eagleville School prairie garden
  • Edwards YMCA Camp: For their commitment to exemplary environmental education programming
COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS
  • John Macy (Arenz Molter Macy & Riffle):  For his work to enhance connections between the Friends and the businesses in the watershed
  • Geoffrey Bishop (Nature’s Classroom Institute of Wisconsin): For helping foster the development of the Friends Education Committee over the past year, allowing us to bring together the five plus youth camps in the watershed in an unprecedented collaboration
  • Tom Day / Eagle Spring Lake Management District: For building so many bridges between watershed partners working toward similar goals over the years
  • Lake Beulah Yacht Club: For their assistance in connecting Lake Beulah and the rest of the watershed
