A new report, Turning the Tide, subtitled Investing in Wastewater Infrastructure to Create Jobs and Solve the Sewage Crisis in the Great Lakes sponsored by Healing Our Waters-Great Lakes Coalition is available. Solutions will require funding and creative approaches. Raw sewage and stormwater breaches of the Great Lakes run into the billions of gallons annually and the causes are more frequent as our infrastructure ages and fails. Combined sewage overflows have become more frequent as we have deluges of rainwater over the past few seasons. There is a spotlight on several Great Lakes cities’ approaches and issues.
