The Friends asked Waukesha County a few years ago to put turtle crossing signs on some areas where we saw tragic turtle demise by interaction with automobiles. They have created great awareness of the threats to turtles as they move to lay their eggs.
This week the Friends discovered that someone removed all four (4) of Waukesha County’s turtle crossing signs on CTH LO.
We work really hard to bring awareness of the creatures and habitat in the Mukwonago River watershed to protect it as the amazing place it is, and someone out there takes the signs!
These signs are a great tool to help these turtles survive with human help in an unkind world. Please help us by returning them to the spots you found them and we will be very happy.
