It is the time to consider protecting turtles as they cross the roads. WDNR has a new citizen monitoring site with reporting forms and turtle information. Please help the Friends assist a turtle across the road and reduce mortality due to vehicle incidents.
The Friends has been a longtime advocate for turtles. We have 11 species of turtles in Wisconsin, many of them in our watershed. Identify them here.
Please be aware of this species which is under constant threat from vehicles as they slowly move upland to lay their eggs. We can effect their mortality, if we bring awareness to all drivers.
