Several of the Mukwonago River Initiative group toured a few sites along the Jericho Creek, a major tributary of the Mukwonago River from the North. This part of the Mukwonago River watershed is primarily in private ownership and is a largely intact creek system due to its stewardship in private hands and the lack of development along its shores. The Friends hope to encourage owners to retain the character of the Creek and sustain this valuable resource in as pristine a condition as possible. We visited the four road crossings which can have a detrimental effect on the Creek without well designed and cared for stormwater planning. Some of this area lost huge bur oaks in last month’s storm and winds as did parts of the Village and Town of Eagle.
