| Featured speaker, John Lyons, adjunct curator of fishes at the University of Wisconsin Zoological Museum. “At the Zoological Museum, Lyons developed a collaborative, international research program on the ecology and conservation of Mexican freshwater fishes. Since retiring from the WDNR in 2017, Lyons has expanded his work at the Zoological Museum to also include studies on Wisconsin and Upper Midwest fishes.”.
John has studied the Mukwonago River for many years, and was in our 2002 video, Glacial Refuge,The Phenomenally Diverse Mukwonago River. He will portray the fish fauna at various locations in the streams and lakes of the Mukwonago River watershed and then explain why some parts of the watershed have extraordinary fish diversity with many sensitive and rare species and some parts don’t.

We have an amazing resource in our Mukwonago River. Partnering with landowners, land trusts, municipal and governmental partners, along with recreational users,and you we can protect the watershed, educate about its value, and make it accessible.
